Terms of use
These terms cover how you use Grounded Art. By using the site, the map, the feed, or a signed-in account, you agree to them. We run Grounded Art from Cape Town, South Africa, and South African law governs these terms.
What Grounded Art is
Grounded Art is a curated atlas of Cape Town galleries, exhibitions, artists, and openings. We build each listing from public business information and from details that galleries and artists send us. We link back to each gallery and artist so the credit and the traffic go to them.
Accuracy and event details
We work to keep listings current, but we cannot guarantee that every date, time, price, or address is correct. Openings move and shows close. Confirm the details with the gallery or artist before you travel. We are not responsible for a wasted trip or a missed event.
Links to other sites
Grounded Art links to gallery sites, artist pages, and social accounts we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of those sites. A link is not an endorsement.
Your account and check-ins
Some features need a Grounded Art account. Keep your sign-in to yourself and use the service honestly. Do not check in where you have not been, submit false listings, or try to break, overload, or scrape the service. We may suspend an account that abuses the service.
Listings and submissions
When you register a gallery, a place, or an artist profile, or send us a correction, you confirm that you may share the information and images you give us, and you let us display them on Grounded Art with attribution. You keep your own rights in your work. We review submissions before they go live and may decline or edit a listing to keep the atlas accurate. To change or remove a listing later, see our takedown and opt-out policy.
Our content
The Grounded Art name, design, curation, and original writing belong to Grounded Art. Please do not copy or re-publish the site or scrape it as a dataset. Gallery and artist material stays the property of the galleries and artists it credits.
No warranty and liability
We offer Grounded Art as it is, without a warranty that it will be complete, accurate, or always available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that follows from using the site or from relying on a listing. Nothing here limits a right you hold under South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act or other law that cannot be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service grows. When we do, we change the date below. Using Grounded Art after a change means you accept the updated terms.
