Privacy & your data
Grounded Art keeps the personal information we hold to what we need to run the service, answer messages, and send updates people have asked for. We handle it in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Contact messages
When you use our contact form, we store your name, email address, subject, message, and the time it arrived so we can read and answer it. We keep accepted messages in our database. Resend delivers an internal notification to our team; email delivery is not our record of your message.
Grounded Art mailing list
When you join the Grounded Art mailing list, we use your email address to send occasional updates about Cape Town exhibitions, openings, and Grounded Art. Joining is optional. Resend stores the subscriber list and sends these updates on our behalf. You can leave at any time using the unsubscribe link in any mailing-list email.
Abuse prevention
We use limited technical information, including your IP address, to rate-limit public forms and protect the service from abuse. If spam makes it necessary, Cloudflare Turnstile may also verify that a submission is human.
Anonymous product counts
We count homepage opens, editorial event opens, editorial saves, and clicks into the app as global daily totals. These totals contain no visitor, account, event, page, artist, venue, or URL identifier. We use them to check whether the editorial rhythm helps visitors, not to rank artists or events.
Your rights
Under POPIA you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@grounded-art.co.za. For a gallery or artist listing update or removal, email takedown@grounded-art.co.za.
